For the last 3 years we’ve made it out to the LPGA Portland Cambia Classic Pro Am on the Wednesday before the tournament. The fact that we’ve moved to Idaho hasn’t prevented us from returning, though.
We left Boise right after Victoria got out of school at 4:00pm and made the 7 hour drive to Portland Tuesday night. After checking out of the hotel just before 8:00am Wednesday morning we grabbed a quick breakfast at IHOP and then made our way to Columbia Edgewater Country Club.
We purchased a flag from the pro shop and then spent the next 5 hours wandering the course looking for players to get autographs and photos. As has been in the past, all of the players were awesome with Victoria taking time to chat with her and giving her balls and gloves in addition to the autograph.
Hopefully we’ll be able to continue the tradition of coming each year. Maybe one day a little girl will come to see Victoria playing. One can hope, right?
